Sensei worked on hip position when punching chokuzuki right side you must compress the left hip keeping this down, in turn this makes for a more powerful punch, it is the little things that is sometimes lost in time or translation which is refreshed from source via people like Sensei Hooper who teaches at JKA Honbu (the headquarters of the Japan Karate Association)
